CLIENT STORY: JASWELL’s FARM
Jaswell’s Farm is the oldest operating apple orchard in the heart of Smithfield, RI’s “Apple Valley.” The business began in the 1890’s when Nicholas Jaswell emigrated from Italy and started the farm in 1899.
Now in their 125th year of continuous operation, Jaswell’s Farm hired Colburn Strategic Partners to redesign their logo, website, sign, labeling, merch and to provide support for marketing their farm throughout the year.

We started by consulting with Jaswell’s Farm’s team about their objectives with rebranding. Ultimately, they wanted a brand that exemplified their slogan, “Rooted In Family Tradition Since 1899” and to transform their branding from retro to rustic. They also wanted the look of their cider, lemonade and apple cider donuts wholesale product packaging to reflect the high-quality products they make.
In addition to designing their logo and new brand look, we designed the new labels for their wholesale products. We procured print quotes, designed the labels, formatted the final designs for print, and submitted the first run of labels – over 80,000 labels printed on the first run, in total.

While we went to work creating the labeling for the wholesale products we also updated the look of Jaswell’s Farm’s website. First, we migrated their website to secure hosting and backed up all of their content. We then set up their SSL Certificate and domain names
After the setup phase, we worked to create a simplified website with clearer calls-to-action. Additionally, we wanted to bring attention to their Online Store and Pick-Your-Own Online Booking capabilities as they had seen a increase in revenue from online sales during COVID.
